Me: Did you see that guy at the gym?
Him: It sounds like I’d know if I had, so I’m going to say no.
Me: I was walking across the gym with my headphones on, and I noticed everyone else in the gym was stock still and looking in the same direction. There was a guy on the treadmill with the speed and incline turned all the way up. He was holding onto the handrails forcing himself to keep up, yelling, “AAAAH!”
Him: Did anyone intervene?
Me: Well, just then, the music coincidentally stopped in my headphones, and I heard someone say to a worker, “He’s going to hurt himself.” The worker went over maybe two minutes later.
Him: Two minutes?!
Me: Well, he was obviously doing it on purpose.
Him: You know what’s the craziest thing about this story? It took you fifteen minutes to say anything.
