Amy Yuki Vickers spent three years writing her memoir, Capturing Energy: My Life as a Reiki Master, while working as a Reiki practitioner at a mental health facility. She has been practicing Reiki for 10 years and has an MA in Integral Health from the California Institute for Human Science.
She is a Contributing Editor to the publication Trauma Transformation, has a BA in Drawing and Art History, a black belt in Tang Soo Do, and is a certified yoga instructor.
She has scaled cliffs, backpacked to the top of mountains, SCUBA’d to the bottom of things, done flying trapeze, studied ballet, hip-hop, salsa, and the tango, jumped out of an airplane solo, and worked at a dot-com during the Y2K scare and subsequent crash. None of those things were scarier than writing. She is currently living in Tokyo with her husband and two cats.
